Jeftomson – Cold Storage, Transport and Produce

October 25th, 2013 by ironbark

Geoffrey Thompson Holdings  are a group of companies based in Shepparton Victoria Australia. The business includes orchards of apples and pears as well  a large packing operation,  with distribution to the large supermarkets. They trade as jeftomson .

Supporting this operation are cold storage and transport.

Each of these business uses specific strengths of Ironbark Software.

The transport operation services linehaul  to the Eastern state fresh produce  markets  of Australia  from their own pack house in Shepparton and direct from large farms in the region. The Ironbark application provides scheduling, mobile truck tablets and real time tracking and billing for the pickup from farms , consolidation  and transport to the markets. Contract transport (creditors), employees (payroll) and billing (debtors) are all with the Ironbark Financials.

The Cold storage operation comprises seven large chiller and frozen  cold room facilities used for storage of produce and  and third party suppliers for dairy, meat  and other frozen goods.

This operation uses Ironbark paperless WIFI scanning and web portals for supplier transparency of stock on hand and movements.

The system provides total stock  control to pallet and carton level (meat). All  stock movements and activities (re-stack/wrap etc) are tracked using mobile scanners. The system provides electronic ecommerce for inwards and outwards movements as well as integrated email to suppliers with glass POD signatures on inwards and outwards stock.

The end of  week billing is integrated with Ironbark Financials for total control of the process.

The Fresh produce applications of Ironbark provide jeftomson with full Pack house pallet stack and trace for fresh produe from JT farms and other  contributing growers. This system facilitates the distribution to markets,  payback to  growers for market returns and deducts all the associated costs (levies, freight, storage etc).

These systems are ecommerce integrated for the major supermarkets such as Woolworths and Coles.

The ecommerce modules allow for tracking the multiple order line variations that occur with large buyers to multiple Distribution Centres(DC) around Australia.

jeftomson chose  Ironbark for their track record with customers of  similar complexity and size,  integration with financials and ability to provide support and development.

The system replaces several other non-integrated (Financials and pack house ) providers.

Australian Garlic Producers go Ironbark

February 28th, 2013 by ironbark

Australian Garlic Producers goes Ironbark

In June 2012 Australian Garlic Producers selected Ironbark Software to implement the Ironbark Fresh ERP solution.

Australian Garlic Producers is located at Iraak near Mildura and was established in 1998 with growers supplying mainly in the Mildura region to meet a need for high quality fresh garlic. Most garlic in Australia is imported from China, however this product has a high level of chemical treatments including irradiation and bleaching.

Quality Garlic is also imported from Mexico, Argentina and Spain in the off season.

Ironbark provided solutions in Warehouse Management , Packing , Processing and Financials.

The system comprised full lot tracking direct from farm block to pack house. The bins are bar code labeled indicating farm, block, variety and date.
At the pack house the garlic is cleaned, graded and stored for drying.
The stock is monitored during the drying process and  weight loss and quality are recorded using mobile scanners and wifi.

Ironbark warehouse management software (WMS) tracks the bins and cool room locations, for accurate stock control.

The accurate recording of both received stock and final cured product is essential for grower pay back and available stock for sale or further processing. It is essential that local and imported product is not mixed.

The garlic can be cracked for sale as cloves, seed processing or manufacture of garlic paste.

The continual re-processing of the raw garlic as it is cured and re-graded is facilitated by mobile tablets using the Ironbark batch processing module. This module produces scan codes and full traceability to the block from the original grower supplied raw garlic.

Sales orders are managed using Ironbark Store orders, an electronic interface with major supermarkets.

Product lot (trace) allocation and dispatch are processed by mobile scanning units for accurate picks.

Sales, grower payments and payroll are all integrated to the Ironbark Financial modules.

Extensive reporting using user selected fields in grids and pivots enables AGP to focus on accurate management of this unique crop.

Markus Kampff, CFO AGP said: “For the first time we have accurate timely reports”.

The reports give feed back on stock levels, yields and market performance for specific varieties and supplying growers.

Ironbark Client General Stationery Supplies Nominated for Award

October 2nd, 2012 by ironbark

GSS LogoStationery News Magazine’s ‘Supplier of the Year’ Awards winner was announced yesterday on the 24th September 2012.

Sponsored by Office Choice and Office Brands, the decision between the six finalists, ACCO, Dynamic Supplies, Bantex, Cumberland Stationery, Pelikan Artline, and General Stationery Supplies – GSS was a difficult one.

ACCO was named Supplier of the Year with Dynamic taking the runner up place. Ironbark software believe GSS deserve a special mention for being awarded one of only six finalist places as they are a state based supplier within NSW and QLD competing against hundreds of other suppliers whom are national.

Congratulations to General Stationary Supplies – GSS – for being nominated for Stationery News Magazine’s Supplier of the Year Awards as the only supplier without blanketed national reach.

Ironbark are incredibly proud to call General Stationery Supplies a client and know first hand how the GSS web shop design is conventionally simplistic, easy-to-use, and functional.

For over 20 years Ironbark have managed GSS’s warehouse management system, financial management software, and in more recent years the wholesale web shop including the ecommerce platform. Each of these systems is fully integrated to allow seamless communication and eliminate the need for re-entering of information and reducing the time needed to process customer orders.

The custom built website, developed by Ironbark allows customers to log in and order products direct. The search function allows customers to efficiently navigate over 9000 products that are carried by GSS displaying current stock availability. It also provides a shopping cart for the customer to add to that integrates directly with the Customer Order System producing the relevant pick orders.

“The performance, reliability, and functionality of the Ironbark Software platform has given GSS the edge we need to compete effectively,” says Jason Bolton, Product Director.

JAT Refrigerated Road Services Keeps It Cool with Ironbark Software

June 10th, 2010 by ironbark

Ironbark Software has innovated and developed ERP software for over three decades, providing and supporting flexible business management systems for dynamic, high growth companies in the Cold Chain Industry.

Cold Storage (3PL) operations have benefited from this experience and the result is a reliable, accurate and efficient system showcasing the latest innovations such as RF Technology for Scanning and Barcoding, POD digital signatures on Touch Tablets for
automatic transport dispatch manifests, etc…

Ironbark is also well experienced with Supplier/ Customer Web Portals and Supplier EDI Integration.

The Cold Storage industry has competitive low margins and is very reliant on efficient systems to reduce labour and stock losses. The need for very precise stock control and transparency of stock to the customer is critical.

The key to success is an efficient communication with Customers, Suppliers and Freight Inwards/ Outwards; with Ironbark Cold Storage Software, you will benefit from synergy and efficiency in the chain.

Case Study – JAT Refrigerated Road Services

JAT Refrigerated Road Services has grown from a small operation started in 1986 by John Azzopardi and his wife, Heather, to a well respected industry leader in the movement of chilled/ frozen and ambient freight in and out or North QLD and an emerging line haul provider to the Southern state’s.

With a modern fleet of 45 trucks and over 70 trailers, JAT provides its customers with a fast, efficient and cost effective transport and storage solution.

JAT has transport depots in Cairns, Tully, Townsville, Mackay and Sydney.

In October 2009, they moved into their own purpose built state of the art transport  and cold storage facility in Lytton, Brisbane. This facility enables them to service the  transport and storage needs of their existing customer base and position them well to cater for new customers in the future.

With the acquisition of this new warehouse came the decision to upgrade their software system and they have chosen to partner with Ironbark Software.

Ironbark Software have implemented a fully integrated 3PL Warehouse Management System complete with RF Technology for Scanning and Barcoding, for precise stock tracking, and a Supplier Portal, for the real time access to stock movements and invoicing information.

Wayne Azzopardi, Manager of Brisbane warehouse, says that they were looking for a better software package to support their growing business, something “that was easy to use” and “allowed them to keep track of stock on-line”. After implementation and training phases and once the team started to use the system on a daily basis, Wayne says “the system is quite easy to operate and working well with our operations… Our customers are impressed with the extra features that this program has to offer. Our human error mistake rate has pretty much gone… I have found Ironbark to be really helpful and definitively feel that we can call them at anytime. And nothing is ever a problem.”

Ironbark Launches New Issue Logging System

December 10th, 2008 by asa

Ironbark Software announced the launch of a new issue logging system.

The new Ironbark issue logging system (currently implemented at a test site) provides a
range of functions and control which has never been experienced before by Ironbark
clients. Ironbark clients will have the power to manage their own issues using this new
online (internet browser) process. See example screenshots below:

The ability to add/enter issues, close issues and add notes to issues are just some of the
features of the new issue logging system. Issues can be filtered by status (all, entered,
open, internal QA, customer QA and closed) and by priority (critical business failure,
data integrity problems, non critical business failure, reporting failure, minor problems
and change request). The ability to add attachments i.e. word docs, spreadsheets,
JPGs, etc is also a necessary function in the issue logging system, as is PDF reporting.
Clients will also be able to see who has been assigned to a specific issue.

“We have been working towards the launch of an online issue logging system for some
time now and whilst we would like to provide this service to all of our clients, we have
provided it to one client for QA and testing purposes. We are looking to roll this out to
clients in 2009…” says Chris Findlater, Managing Director.

The benefits of an online issue logging system include improved management and
traceability of issues, utilisation of paperless technology, and enhanced reporting and
status functionality.

“This system will allow clients to be kept up to date in one central location and in
general, will improve and streamline the issue logging process. We are always looking to
increase the quality of our services to clients and with the implementation of our new
online support system, this will allow for those improvements to be delivered to our
customers”, concluded Mr Findlater.

This system will eventually replace the incumbent issue processes in place at Ironbark i.e.
faxing/emailing of issues etc.

Access to the online support system will be available via a login section on Ironbark’s
website.
