Ironbark Software brings together a team of technologically minded, business and social visionaries who contribute to the successes of Ironbark, its company visions and client's solutions.

Chris Findlater
Managing Director

Chris Findlater began his career in medical science with a prominent Australian medical laboratory. His interest in information technology developed when he was asked to create an information system for the laboratory, as nothing suitable was available at the time. After this successful implementation, Chris undertook IT development for a number of different organisations, and in 1977 launched Ironbark Software and a full time IT career.

Chris has written, developed and project managed the implementation of IT systems under the Unix and Windows NT environments, from single user systems to organisations utilizing hundreds of users. In the late 1990's Chris also supervised and worked on the Y2K compliance of Ironbark Software's user base, ensuring the minimisation of Y2K risk.

Today Ironbark Software is operating in over 300 sites in Australia, New Zealand and China, in a number of different industries including (but not limited to) fresh produce, seafood, manufacturing, fuel distribution, timber, building and construction/job costing, healthcare, project management and wholesale distribution. Over the past four years Ironbark Software has featured in the Q400 List, which is sponsored by the Queensland Government and lists the top 400 privately owned businesses in Queensland.

Since 1994, Chris has also become involved in Australian native flower production and export with the start up of Ironbark Wildflowers, based just outside Byron Bay. Since starting up, Ironbark Wildflowers has become a prominent native flower grower, produce and exporter, as well as supplying seedlings and consultancy to a number of Australian growers.

Outside his professional life, Chris enjoys diving, surfing and snow boarding.
